Maitland is responsible for all port terminal operations and inland waterways. He previously worked in a private sector job in industrial development for 2 years and has work experience in various city and county government planning departments. Before assuming his current position in 2023, Maitland was a development intern and a contractor for Port KC from 2018-2020. He is a Kansas City native and attended Maple Woods Community College and the University of Missouri- Kansas City, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in urban planning and design.
