ALPLA

ALPLA, a leading company in the plastic packaging industry, is leasing space in Building 4 at the Blue River Commerce Center to create a new 246,000 square-foot manufacturing plant. This rail-served injection molding facility is expected to create 75 jobs and will assist in the stabilization of the manufacturing economy. While they will initially occupy half of the building, future plans include an option to expand their volume and footprint in Kansas City. To attract ALPLA to the Kansas City area, The Kansas City Area Development Council worked with Port KC, the State of Missouri, Missouri Partnership, City of Kansas City, Missouri, Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Cushman & Wakefield- Joe Accurso, NorthPoint Development, Evergy, and KC SmartPort.  

Port KC issued $30 million of privately backed conduit bonds to support procuring and installing equipment for their plastics product manufacturing facility.
