The future City Harvest project is located at 5th & Main in the City Market. The 310-unit apartment project will contain 60 affordable housing units, new retail opportunities, and parking for City Market visitors and tenants.
This ground lot is currently producing $0 for the city, and previous attempts to develop it have failed over the years. The City of Kansas City, Missouri, conveyed the land to Port KC for development. Developing this space is essential because it will contain 8,000 square feet of commercial space, a 220-space parking structure, additional surface parking, landscaping, and other associated infrastructure improvements, that will be beneficial for the area.
Port KC is issuing the developer, Flaherty & Collins, $97 million in bonds to help finance the development.
