Drake Development is leading the transformation of a key site within Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza, with the Cocina 47 project. Announced in 2023, this development will introduce a high-end, three-story commercial building that blends seamlessly with the historic and architectural character of the Plaza.

The project will replace an existing obsolete structure with a modern yet classically inspired building that features high ceilings, expansive floorplates, and large outdoor patios. These features are intentionally designed to create an elevated experience for both restaurant and retail tenants, as well as for the thousands of visitors who frequent the Plaza each year.

Cocina 47 will be anchored by a luxury restaurant concept and will include additional space for complementary retail or dining establishments. Final tenant decisions are expected by fall 2025, allowing time for build-out and opening in advance of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, when Kansas City will welcome an influx of international visitors.
