Riverfront Heritage Trail

Berkley Riverfront is home to almost one mile of the Riverfront Heritage Trail system, which connects surrounding communities along the Missouri and Kansas Rivers. Port KC participated in the trail development through partnerships with KC River Trails, the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, and the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

This 15-mile bicycle and pedestrian pathway is lined with art and historical signage. It is an attractive green space amenity to future development along the trail. It complements Berkley Riverfront’s vision to provide opportunities for outdoor activity and recreation in the heart of an urban environment. Recreational bi-state asset, proof of public and private partnerships. Port KC maintains and manages the trail within our boundaries.

Please visit the KC River Trails website to learn more about the Riverfront Heritage Trail.

MO River Murals

As of 2023, the levee walls that run along the trail are decorated with murals. This is done by MO River Murals Project, a group dedicated to beautifying the industrial walls along the river. MO River Murals is located on Berkley Riverfront’s west end, along the Riverfront Heritage Trail and near the Town of Kansas Bridge.
