Volleyball and Fitness Courts

Port KC constructed six illuminated sand volleyball courts along Berkley Riverfront. The courts were relocated and can be found at their new location near the Grand Avenue Viaduct. Through a partnership between Port KC and local operator KC Crew, the courts were built and leased to KC Crew for routine volleyball league play. The courts are also open to the general public when they are not reserved or in use by leagues. 

The eastern end of Berkley Riverfront additionally features fitness courts with workout equipment for all skill levels and a wheelchair-accessible machine. The equipment contains stickers that provide instructions and QR code links to suggested workout video guides.  

Port KC constructed the volleyball and fitness courts to meet the demand for more downtown recreational space. These projects are both part of the park’s health and wellness focus.
