    Our responsibilities are outlined by state statute, and we are chartered by the city. We work within the boundaries of Kansas City, Missouri. We also have a volunteer Board of Commissioners, who were appointed by Kansas City’s mayor. They provide their expertise and focus to our mission. We adhere to policies and resolutions set forth by our Commission.
