Ross Custom Properties owns 87 acres of former AK Steel property in the Blue River Corridor on the eastern edge of Kansas City, an area with considerable need. This is a challenging infill development site that is environmentally contaminated and an underutilized urban space.  

In addition to redeveloping 500,000 square feet of industrial space, this project will address environmental remediation, access improvements, and utility infrastructure updates. This project will add approximately 100 new jobs. The family’s continued investment in developing the area has also resulted in Custom Truck One Source, a company they founded that has grown significantly and resides across the street, which is the market leader in the customization of heavy equipment in rail and construction industries.

Port KC has issued $35 million of privately backed conduit bonds to support the project.
