Port KC is excited to welcome Google to Kansas City.

Tech company announces KC Data Center.

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI – Today, Google announces its newest data center will be located in Kansas City, Missouri. Port KC is proud to be a partner on this momentous project. Port KC’s Board voted to provide up to $25 billion in bonds for 35 years to keep that continued growth right here in our backyard.

Kansas City continues to emerge as one of the nation’s fastest-growing locations for this global industry. Google’s $1 billion investment will be located inside the Hunt Midwest Business Center in Clay County. When the data center opens, it will be the latest advanced tech success building on years of hard work by so many.

“Port KC’s team is just one piece of the strategic effort of local and state partners,” said Jon Stephens, President and CEO, Port KC. “This is the start of a long-term vision to solidify the Kansas City area’s role as a leader in the world’s digital future.”

Data centers will bring reliable jobs to the next generation of workforce. The data center will provide construction and infrastructure jobs to local businesses. And will be an economic engine in the decades ahead.

We look forward to our continued partnership with Google as we focus to grow KC’s economic status in the world.
